Goldie: the happiest baby on earth. She will lay on the bed fussing, quietly and sweetly without any real cries  while we fumble to get out the door. When I finally come pick her up, she gives me the biggest smile and I melt in to a puddle of gratitude and guilt. Patient and forgiving, she’s already mastered the art of taking turns and sharing attention at five months old. Thank you sweet Goldie for going easy on me.

Sophie: trying to get in a nap before we leave for her preschool open house, she could hardly keep her eyes open reading and drawing in bed for an hour but she would not actually sleep until we got in the car. Trying to figure out a good sleep schedule for this girl has been such a challenge. I am quite sure that an early bedtime, early wake-up and early in the day nap is the perfect combination (I think all other mothers are already aware of this, right?) but we really struggle to stick with it. We’ll do okay for a few days, maybe even a week.. then stay up too late one night, sleep in too late the next morning, skip the nap, have a late afternoon 10 minute snooze instead and then stay up even later the next night! My goal this spring is to get both girls in bed by nine, out of bed around eight and napping around noon. Although it’s still about six months away starting preschool will be a pretty big change for Sophie and I don’t want sleep deprivition to make it any more challenging for her!

Sophie: not a big fan of having her photo taken these days (although, she has her moments and sometimes asks for a picture, it has to be on her terms) she refused to look up for a photo.

Goldie: currently delighted by all kinds of things, especially things that are fluffy, bright or jingly. Most of her clothes and toys are hand me downs from her sister, but Flora the Flamingo was picked out just for her.
